Umberto is a serial tech entrepreneur. He co-founded and served as CEO of Fluidmesh Networks, acquired by Cisco in 2020, and co-founded Pantascene, acquired by Hitachi in 2014. He serves as non-executive director on the board of Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A. and as non-executive chair of SBTi Services, the operating entity of the Science Based Targets initiative. Umberto holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Engineering in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from MIT, and began his career as a management consultant at McKinsey. He is based in Italy.

Bernd Würmseer

Bernd has spent 25 years building global sales organizations for high-growth enterprise software companies. He held senior commercial roles at Vodafone, Huawei, Zendesk, LivePerson, and Afiniti before joining Cognigy as SVP Global Sales, where he drove the growth that led to the company's $955 million acquisition by NICE in 2025 — the largest acquisition of a European AI company to date. He studied macroeconomics (Volkswirtschaftslehre) at Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München and is based in Dubai.

Alejo Hernandez

CTO. Argentina.

A physicist by training and a machine learning engineer by trade. Alejo started his career at Accenture in Buenos Aires as a Data Science Associate Manager, where he worked on intelligent image processing R&D for a major U.S. utility. He then led machine learning architecture at AccelOne and Arionkoder, shipping production systems for clients in oil and gas, defence, and electric power. Before joining Kosmoy, he worked as an independent machine learning solutions architect in Rome, advising European enterprise clients. Alejo is based in Buenos Aires.

The Nera River, Umbria.

For our first major offsite, we took the team rafting on the Nera River in central Italy, below the Marmore Falls — one of the few Class 4 whitewater stretches in Europe. No experience required. No rehearsal. Just rafts, paddles, and a group of engineers, salespeople, and operators figuring out real-time coordination in cold, fast-moving water.

Lake Garda, the Smugglers' Path.

The following year we gathered on the shores of Lake Garda and walked the Sentiero dei Contrabbandieri — a 19th-century cliffside route once used to move contraband between the Kingdom of Italy and the Austro-Hungarian Empire, now a via ferrata. Our mountain guides told us afterwards they were impressed: no one cried. Apparently that is rare for a group of novices.
